Linguistic examination is used when a dispute depends on the meaning of a text, its form of expression, context, intended recipient and the linguistic features of a statement. Materials may include publications, comments, correspondence, contracts, advertising, brands, audio and video.
The expert establishes specialist linguistic features but does not replace the court or provide a final legal classification.
What you can do
- collect the disputed text and its context;
- formulate appropriate questions for a specialist;
- assess whether a combined examination is needed;
- prepare a specialist opinion or an expert report review.
